Mr. Burke

It all happened one night when I was waiting for someone to come see me. It could have been anyone. I was sitting on the front porch swing listening to the sounds of the night when I decided to listen to some music. I started to go toward the door when I saw the most gorgeous man I have ever laid eyes on in my life. He was driving a fancy car, a sports car. Which one it was, well that was terminated from my thoughts after he left.) He stopped the car in front of the house, got out, and started to come toward me with briefcase in hand. He asked if a Ms. Snow White lived here. I said, “Yes, that’s me.” He told me he was Mr. Burke from the capitol and asked if I had some spare time that he could talk to me. Well, any girl in her right mind would say yes, so of course, that’s what I said. “Would you like a drink, or anything?” No, he said. “Would you like to come in & have a seat then?” Again, he said no. He liked the evening air & thought it would be nice to sit on the swing, or on the steps of the porch, my choice. Porch. I would feel more comfortable there, I thought. I could sit more of how I wanted and not worrying so much as to how I’ve been moving. Porch it would be.
